Focus on SUCHIMED : A researcher study marine pollution in the Mediterranean sea with biofilms
Every three years, IFREMER organise an oceanographic expedition to draw up an inventory of pollution on the Mediterranean coast. Jean-François Briand, teacher-researcher at the IUT of Biology, was part of the last expedition. Based on the samples collected, the BIOFINDIC project (Water Agency RMC) and a Region Sud funding (EJD), a thesis began at the MAPIEM laboratory in september 2021 to better understand the processes of exchange between pollutants in the marine environment and biofilms.
