Water- Biofil : Next-generation biodegradables filters for water purification and desalination

WATER BIOFIL

Acronym:

WATER-BIOFIL

Funding

ERANET

Short Overview:

The objective of WATER-BIOFIL is to design, assemble, and test next-generation compostable filters, made from biodegradable and/or bio-based polymers. These filters can later be integrated into standard drinking water systems and serve as emergency tools to respond to extreme hydro-climatic events, while also reducing the environmental impact of hazardous materials.
The consortium is made up of three RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) entities from Romania, France, and Poland, with expertise in materials science and functional biomaterials, along with three SMEs specializing in water purification and waste management.
