Infrared spectroscopy is a useful technique to identify and study chemicals. It is based on the interaction of infrared radiation with matter because the molecules absorb the IR beam on specific frequencies which are characteristic of their structure.
The IS-50 spectrometer is a Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer.
It collect simultaneously high-spectral-resolution data over a wide spectral range to obtain an infrared spectrum. The raw data are converted into the ir spectrum by using a mathematical process (Fourier transformation).
Our equipment is completed by Nicoletâ„¢ Continuumâ„¢ Infrared Microscope, Germanium ATR, Diamond ATR accessories and an electrical heating cell for transmission analysis (solid sample).
