Last week, the 5th EcotoxicoMic Conference brought together the microbial ecotoxicology community for inspiring scientific discussions and knowledge sharing.
Researchers from the MAPIEM laboratory — Elisa Catão C P, Jean-François Briand, and Tobias Sérvulo — presented four posters showcasing recent research on marine biofilms, diatom diversity, environmental contamination, and antimicrobial resistance. A special congratulations to Tobias, whose poster received the Best Poster Award, presented by the Fondation Evertéa and Environmental Science and Pollution Research!
🏆 Tobias Sérvulo — Best Poster Award
• “Chemical contamination gradients drive spatio-temporal dynamics of diatom communities in marine biofilms in a highly anthropized Mediterranean bay”
Tobias’s PhD thesis is supervised by Jean-François Briand and co-supervised by Elisa Catão C P and Marc Bouchoucha.
• “Unveiling antimicrobial resistance in marine coastal biofilms using metagenomics” — selected for a poster corner presentation.
• “Metagenomic and Genome-Resolved Insights of Marine Biofilms Resistome Across Contrasted Coastal Environments”
Both posters present results obtained by Floriane TURREL.
• “From the Atlantic to the Mediterranean Sea: How Environmental Factors, Colonisation Kinetics and Polymer Type Shape Diatom Diversity in the Plastisphere”
