Clean Antifouling Coating (REVêtement Antifouling Propres)

REVAP

Acronym :

REVAP

Funding:

Programme de soutien à la Recherche (PSR-SIIRI) du ministère Economie, Science et Innovation du Quebec

Short Overview:

The aim of the REVAP project will be to assess the antifouling efficacy of a new type of coating based on xerogel and consequently environmentally friendly. This three years project, initiated by Pr Karine Lemarchand (UQAR/ISMER Rimouski, QC) will be achieved in collaboration with Dr. Jean-François Briand (UTLN, France) and the Mirapakon company (Québec, QC).
The scientific goal will be to expand our knowledge on the marine biofilm microbial community and especially the environmental factors that drive the colonization in contrasted marine seawater (St Laurent estuary, Quebec vs North-Western Mediterranean Sea) combining both the French and Québec expertise in biofilm and biofouling control.
