Control of biological and mineral fouling on ships
1 September 2020Acronym :
ExUS Funding:
FUI 25 Short Overview:
The ExUS project aims to develop an ecological alternative system for the prevention of mineral and bacterial deposits on the ships hulls and in heat exchangers, based on the use of ultrasonic guided waves associated with the heterodyne effect of multiple frequencies. Quorum sensing interference in Pseudomonas and related strains isolated from marine ecosystems
21 October 2020Acronym :
SENPSEUDOMAR Funding:
PHC TASSILI Short Overview:
This project aims at better understand how Pseudomonas strains found in marine environment survive in particular in complex biofilms and to evaluate approaches that could limit their development. Antifouling Coatings for War Ships
7 June 2016, by Hugues BRISSETFinancement:
EDA Project.B0001-GEM1-ERG and B0945-GEM1-ERG
Description:
The pressure of environment regulations has reached to ban tin containing antifouling coatings, which could have fulfilled the objectives of dry-docking intervals previously mentioned. In addition, other metallic compounds are considered to be regulated in a near future such as copper base products well known to-day as antifouling components.
New tin free self polishing / ablative antifoulings have been (…) -
